| Dr. Seuss Dioramas by Mariah and Abi To learn more about dioramas click here. I think it would be fun to do the shoebox diorama in reading next month. What do you think? If you have any shoe boxes at home that you would like to donate to our class that would be fantastic! |

We are starting to think about OAKS (Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) assessment!
OAKS CHANT
We know how to take a test,
We know how to do our best.
Listen carefully, then we do,
What the directions tell us to.
Do not hurry, do not rush,
Doing our best our teachers gush.
Check our answers to make them right,
I am smart and I shine bright!
Read the stories, read the lines,
Remember always take your time.
Take the time to think and plan
Tell yourself, “Yes I can!”
I will show what I can do,
I will show it all to you.
The OAKs test is what we take,
Reaching high for scores we make.
We know our stuff, yes we do!
Reading, math and science too!
We will do our very best!
We’ll score high on our OAKs tests!
We know how to take a test,
We know how to do our best.
Listen carefully, then we do,

ELPA Chant (English Language Proficiency Assessment)
ELPA CHANT
We know how to take a test,
We know how to do our best.
Listen carefully, then do,
What the directions tell you to.
Do not hurry, do not rush,
Do not speak in a low hush.
Say your answers right out loud,
You are smart and you are proud!
Read the stories, read the lines,
Remember always take your time.
Take the time to think and plan
Tell yourself, “Yes I can!”
I will show what I can do,
I will show it all to you.
ELPA is the test we take,
5’s the score we want to make.
We know English, yes we do!
And we want to prove it, too!
We will do our very best!
We’ll score high on the ELPA test!
We know how to take a test,
We know how to do our best.

Egg and Vinegar Experiment-Day 1
One raw egg, 80-140 ml of vinegar, and one plastic cup.
A hypothesis is similar to an educated guess. It is a preliminary answer to the question you have asked that you will test to see if it is seems to be true. All you need to do to form your hypothesis is to take your original question, and turn it into an answer. For example, you might hypothesize that: rainbows appear as a result of water in the earth's atmosphere "bending" the light from the sun.
Keep in mind that it doesn't matter whether your hypothesis is "right" or "wrong". What you are trying to do here is form a hypothesis that you can test through an experiment. The results from your experiment will tell you whether the hypothesis was correct or not. So don't fuss too much over the wording. The most important thing is to just make sure that it is testable. Please use the sentence frame to help you write your hypothesis. Post below.
